Field Notes for Teacher Candidates
Kentucky Field Experience Tracking System
The Kentucky Field Experience Tracking System (KFETS) is an online application for tracking field experiences of teacher candidates enrolled in a Kentucky teacher preparation program and students who plan to enroll in a teacher preparation program in Kentucky. Candidates in Kentucky are required to complete a minimum of 200 field experience hours prior to student teaching.
A full description of the KFETS system and the KAR5:040 Regulation can be found on the Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) by clicking the following link to the EPSB Educator Prep website; Educator Prep. The EPSB PowerPoint Presentation providing a detailed explanation of the Candidate portion of the KFETS system and a supporting Microsoft Word document detailing the step by step instructions on how to create an account with EPSB and the flow of KFETS can be accessed by clicking the provided links below:
A special note of gratitude is extended to Western Kentucky University for granting our Director, Dr. Alesa Walker, permission to use the following Youtube videos. Students should take time to watch the following as each video will address various topics regarding EPSB and KFETS.
