The application for certification process has changed. Please review the information below.
Kentucky Application Instructions

Go to the EPSB Main Page.

You will need to close the pop-up message about clicking on the green KECS button to apply for or renew your certification.

You may want to review the Frequently Asked Questions section (upper right-hand corner) for steps and screenshots regarding logging in.

Log in using the link on the left-hand side of the screen in the green box.

Create an account if you do not already have one.

Once logged in, you can access additional help documents by clicking on the question mark symbol, "?" to the left of your name (which is on the right side of the screen).

Check the box for "Initial KY Certification (CA-1)".
If you are also applying for a 5 Year Substitute Certificate, check that box as well. -
Answer the questions.

Complete the Out of State License element (even if you do not have an out of state license, you must complete this element).

Complete the Degree element. (You will need to follow the directions provided by the Registrar's Office regarding ordering an official transcript.)

Complete the Character and Fitness element.

Email Teacher Education Services, msu.teachereducationservices@murraystate.edu, that your application is ready for review. Please note: We cannot process your application until your degree has been awarded (conferred).

Once all elements are completed, you will receive an email that your payment can be submitted.

Choose the appropriate option(s). If you are eligible for multiple certificates and/or Rank Change, select all that apply.

Complete the Degree element.

Complete the Character and Fitness element.

Email Teacher Education Services, msu.teachereducationservices@murraystate.edu, that your application is ready for review.

If verification of experience is required, your school district will complete that element.

Once all elements are completed, you will receive an email that your payment can be submitted.

The Kentucky PRAXIS requirements can be found on the ETS website. Score Recipients must be both the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board (code 7283) and Murray State University (code 1494). Katherine Farmer of the Curriculum Materials Center has created a tutorial video to guide students through the registration process.
State Certification
Certification requirements can be quite different from state to state. Montana does not have reciprocity with any state for teacher licensure. To get a Montana teaching license you will need to go through the application process. You will need to submit an application, transcripts, a fingerprint background check, a copy of your current out of state license, a university recommendation and a licensure fee which verifies you have completed a teacher preparation program which included student teaching and that you qualify for the endorsements you are applying for.
