Goals of Professional Developement Institute I

  • Explain the objectives and goals of the HBS FIRST II project;
  • Develop faculty understanding of inquiry-based teaching/learning through active engagement in inquiry-based activities;
  • Initiate development of action plans for reforming science teaching and curricula at team institutions;
  • Develop faculty understanding of the process and importance of assessment in relation to effective learning/teaching;
  • Provide participants with resources about teaching and learning; and
  • Build connections between the HBS mentor team and institutional teams and among the team members.
