Associate of Arts - General Studies

Description

The Associate of Arts in General Studies (AAGS) is perfect for those who are returning to school and need to earn a quick credential before beginning their bachelor's degree. It is designed with the adult learner in mind and can be completed on-campus or as a distance learning program. The AAGS prepares students for careers in general studies / liberal arts and offers the option to specialize in an area of study. The degree includes the following course requirements:

Global Awareness, Cultural Diversity, and the World's Artistic Traditions: 3 hours

Business Administration

Description

This is a 2+2 program offered 100% online with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). The Bachelor of Science in Business online programs are available entirely online because of the transfer agreement between Murray State University and KCTCS. KCTCS offers all of the lower-level requirements for the degrees online. Students finish their degree online through Murray State. The Business Administration program prepares students for a variety of career opportunities. It provides students with a broad overall understanding of the different functional disciplines of business and prepares them for positions of responsibility in business organizations.

Computer Information Systems

Description

This is a 2+2 program offered 100% online with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). The Bachelor of Science in Business degree with an area in Computer Information Systems is available entirely online because of the transfer agreement between Murray State University and KCTCS. KCTCS offers all of the lower-level requirements for the degrees online. Students finish their degree online through Murray State. The emphasis of the Computer Information Systems degree is on business computing. Students take all the business core classes (marketing, management, accounting) and enhance that education with a variety of programming courses commonly used in a wide variety of businesses. Inter-personal and group communication is stressed in most of the upper level classes. Students in this discipline are analysts – they analyze Business requirements, evaluate alternative technologies and present optimal solutions to Business managers. Their strength lies in their ability to apply state of the art technologies to help people become more productive.

Human Services

Do you enjoy helping people? A major in human services will prepare you for a career in a wide variety of community service settings. This degree will equip you to respond to the everyday human struggle as well as complex problems in today’s global society. You will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to work in this area as you learn how to become a professional human services worker.


Graduates of this program are proficient in human development and learning theories, human relation skills, leadership and group engagement, ethical decision making, cross cultural engagement, and the basic skills related to program evaluation and advocacy. Potential job positions include social services, child advocacy, human services direct care, family resources, family counselor, child protection, and corrections.

Description

This is a 2+2 program offered 100% online with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). The Bachelor of Science in Business degree with an area in Logistics and Supply Chain Management is available entirely online because of the transfer agreement between Murray State University and KCTCS. KCTCS offers all of the lower-level requirements for the degrees online. Students finish their degree online through Murray State. Murray State University’s Logistics and Supply Chain Management Area is a program that prepares individuals to manage and coordinate the efficient flow of materials, products and information within and among organizations.

Public and Community Health

Description

Interested in Healthcare Administration or Health Education and Promotion? The Public and Community Health Bachelor of Science degree option is available online! According to the U.S. Department of Labor, public and community health occupations are expected to generate as many as 2.3 million new jobs by 2024. This degree is interdisciplinary in nature and provides options that allow students to prepare for various careers in public and community health organizations, such as hospitals, governmental agencies, non-profits, and worksite wellness programs. The Public and Community Health program prepares students to sit for professional certifications/licensures as well as for graduate studies in related fields. There are two distinct tracks available online, each culminating with a semester long internship: Healthcare Administration and Health Education and Promotion. The RN BSN program assumes students have completed an Associate Degree in Nursing and hold state licensure prior to admission. The purposes of the Murray State RN BSN program are to: a) prepare a liberally educated individual; b) prepare a professional graduate who practices as a generalists, and c) prepare one who is qualified to pursue graduate study in nursing. The convenience of Murray State’s program allows the working nurse to achieve professional and educational goals in a very reasonable accelerated time frame.

Telecommunication Systems Management

Description

This is a 2+2 program offered 100% online with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). The Bachelor of Science in TSM online program is made possible by a transfer agreement between Murray State University and the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). (View transfer sequence.) The Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology (AAS-IT) degree, delivered online by KCTCS, prepares students for completion of the program through Murray State University. While the transfer agreement applies to traditional students attending classes on-campus, as well as to online students taking classes via the Internet, it allows for students to achieve their degree objective regardless of where they are located.
