MURRAY, Ky. – On March 29 and 30, Murray State’s chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) hosted their first district conference, “PR Here, There and Everywhere,” at Murray State University’s Paducah Regional Campus.
This conference brought PR professionals from various industries such as healthcare, entertainment, sports, corporations and finance. The conference was put together by PRSSA student executives Ellie Krouse, Natalie Gardner, Madison Harrigan, Hannah Choate and Jasira Josett, as well as member Madison Miller.
"Our District Conference was a great success,” said Harrigan, director of community engagement. “With a wide range of PR professionals, students from across the Midwest with a passion for PR, our sponsors, and our hardworking executive team, this conference brought new knowledge, fresh perspectives, meaningful connections, and revitalized young professionals eager to bring what they learned back to their classrooms and PRSSA chapters."
The conference was attended by various PRSSA chapters, including University of Southern Indiana, Southern Illinois University, Eastern Kentucky University, and Asbury University. The objective of this conference was to educate and inform PR students of the vast opportunities that PR offers in the professional work space, as well as providing networking opportunities with professionals and other students.
“I am so impressed by how hard working our PRSSA students are and how helpful these alumni were in supporting students from all across the region,” said Dr. Marcie Hinton, associate professor of public relations at Murray State.
