MURRAY, Ky. – Murray State University has placed highly in a new, personalized college rankings tool created by The New York Times that allows users to indicate which attributes are important to them in order to best match their priorities with higher education institutions.
The tool uses data from three sources: the U.S. Department of Education via the National Center for Education Statistics and the College Scorecard, Niche.com and Opportunity Insights. The data is from the Department of Education unless noted otherwise.
The tool included only colleges and universities where more than 50 percent of students graduated within eight years, as well as colleges and universities which have more than 75 percent of their students attending full time.
When filtering colleges and universities between 3,000 and 10,000 students and using Midwest and South as geographic locations among public universities, Murray State ranks highly when attributes of career earnings, economic mobility and campus safety are chosen by the user.
