By Dr. Kim Vigil | Feb 29, 2024
MURRAY, Ky. – The Murray State University College of Education and Human Services will host Timothy Warnock for “Thriving through the Storm,” a presentation that will discuss overarching mental health and wellbeing practices from the vantage point of someone who has been in the trenches, from 6-7 p.m. on March 5 at Wrather Hall.
Through sharing his personal journey with loss and the subsequent triumph over the storm, Warnock will guide participants in breaking down mental health stigmas while highlighting the “Big Five” proactive practices for wellbeing.
Warnock’s story was featured in both the 2020 National Education Association Today and Esquire magazines after he and a collaborative of dedicated and caring individuals successfully lobbied Arizona’s legislature to pass Senate Bill 1468, the Mitch Warnock Act. He is a former National Collegiate Athletics Association student-athlete, athletic director, a 30-year teacher, complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder survivor and staunch mental health advocate.
The event is free and open to the public.
