Course proposal guidelines
All Academic Council proposals are submitted using the Kuali Curriculum Management System. Kuali can also be accessed by the general links on the Teaching/Advising tab on MyGate.
CHANGE TO EXISTING COURSE
EFFECTIVE SEMESTER: The effective date should be the semester (i.e. Fall 2021) that changes will be implemented. Changes cannot go into effect in an active term. |
DELETE COURSE EFFECTIVE SEMESTER: The effective date should be the semester (i.e. Fall 2021) that the course will be deleted from course inventory. |
NEW COURSES Proposed courses are routed to the appropriate Academic Council standing committee for review and recommendation to the full Academic Council once entered in Kuali. EFFECTIVE SEMESTER: The effective date should be the semester (i.e. Fall 2021) that the new course will be implemented. |
NEW PROGRAMS/PROGRAM CHANGES The intent to create a new program should be discussed with Dr. Robert Pervine, Associate Provost. Once the creation of a new program has been approved, the department should follow the Approval Process for New Degree Programs. Submit new program curriculum to Academic Council with: EFFECTIVE SEMESTER: The effective date should be the semester (i.e. Fall 2021) that the new program will be implemented. |
