Paid Parental Leave

Effective April 1, 2022, the new paid parental leave policy will provide up to six (6) weeks of paid leave for regular faculty and staff within the first twelve (12) weeks following an eligible childbirth or adoption.  The paid leave may be used in lieu of accrued sick leave, vacation leave or family and medical leave.  Regular faculty and staff may submit a written request for paid parental leave to the Office of Human Resources using the Paid Parental Leave Request Form

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a voluntary program that provides employees and their household members confidential access to the programs and services they need to increase their happiness and healthiness.

Racer Wellness - program to encourage, support, and assist employees in taking a proactive approach to improve their overall well-being.

Racer Family Network - Child and Pet Care Resources

The Racer Family Network provides access to certified or licensed child care options in the community through the  Public Child Care Search. The search tool is managed by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services Division of Child Care.

The Racer Family Network Resources Board provides the opportunity for Murray State faculty, staff, and students to connect when occasional child and/or pet care is needed. For more information, please visit the myGate channel on the Home tab.

The Racer Family Network Local Pet Care Facilities Board provides the opportunity for local businesses offering pet boarding and day care services to connect with Murray State Faculty, Staff and Students. To view the electronic posting board, please visit the Racer Family Network Local Pet Care Facilities Board.

Lactation Support

The University has reasonable accommodation available to employees for lactation in the workplace. To request a reasonable accommodation for a private space or if other accommodations are needed, please contact the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity and Access (IDEA) at 270.809.3155.

Murray State Lactation Room in the Blackburn Science Building - A private, lockable lactation room is available by appointment in Blackburn Science Building, room 153 on the first floor.
