When is Family Weekend 2024?

Family Weekend is September 13-15, 2024. This is a great time to visit campus to see your student’s college home! Many fun events are planned for the weekend so your family can have a great time together and learn more about Murray State University.

Family Fun Field Day Events and Games

Note: Family Fun Field Day activities have been moved to Curris Center (3rd Floor) and the Waterfield Library Breezeway.

What is the cost for Family Weekend?

The Family Pass is $15/family

The Family Pass enables all family members, including the student, to join in the fun family events. Your family will receive a welcome bag containing essential Family Weekend information, local community resources, and fun swag items. Plus, you'll get two free lunch tickets for Winslow on Saturday, September 14. A portion of the proceeds will also support the Racers Helping Racers food pantry.  

Lunch Tickets:

Tickets:  $10/person at Winslow

Two free lunch tickets to Winslow are only included when you purchase the Family Weekend Family Pass for $15/family. Lunch tickets will be in the Family Weekend bag.

For additional lunch tickets, pay at the door of Winslow the day of the event.

Fall Fanfare:

$10/adult

Free: Children 5 and under

Online purchase option only: Family Package* is available for $30/family (4 tickets for the price of 3) *Family Package not sold at the door

Football Tickets: 

Family Weekend Adult Ticket Price: $10/adult through Ticketmaster

All children (17 & Under) & current Murray State students with a valid student ID will receive free admission to all home football events.

(Note: Football tickets purchased independently of Family Weekend cost $22/adult. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Murray State Ticket Office at 270.809.3000 or visiting goracers.com/tickets [Ticketmaster])

When can I register my family for Family Weekend?

Registration is now closed. Many events are complimentary so you and your student can enjoy your time together. You may pay for Winslow lunch tickets and Fall Fanfare tickets at the door. Enjoy Family Weekend!

Family Weekend Pass and/or Fall Fanfare Tickets

You can purchase your Family Weekend Family Pass and Fall Fanfare tickets through the Family Weekend registration site linked above. Registration will close on September 11 at 11:59 pm (CST).

Football General Admission Tickets

Purchase your football tickets ($10/adult) through the above link. All children (17 & Under) & current Murray State students with a valid student ID will receive free admission to all home football events.

The discounted promo code will close Friday at noon the day before the game. Game day tickets purchased outside of the promo or at the gate are $22/adult. Please contact the Athletic Ticket Office at 270.809.3000 or msu.tickets@murraystate.edu with football ticket questions.

All ticket sales are final.

What events can my student attend?

Your student is encouraged to attend all events with you during Family Weekend.

Can we bring grandparents and other relatives to Family Weekend?

Yes, all family members are welcome.

What if I have more than one student attending the University?

You can include all of your students in one family registration. 

What if I need to make changes to my registration after I have already submitted and paid?

Please email msu.family@murraystate.edu if you need to make adjustments to your registration

What if I miss the deadline to register online?

Many events are free and some you can pay for at the door. Please see the schedule for details. Please register before September 11. The two free lunch tickets to Winslow are only available for pre-registered guests. Registration for the Family Pass and Fall Fanfare closes on September 11 (11:59 pm CST).

You can purchase football tickets by contacting the MSU ticket office at 270.809.3000. Football tickets purchased outside the Family Weekend promo package are $22/ticket/adult.

Welcome Bag

Staff will be available on Friday, September 13, from 11 am to 1 pm in front of Waterfield Library (Breezeway) and on Saturday, September 14, from 7:30-10:00 am in the Quad for families to pick up their welcome bag. (One bag per family.)

Do I receive tickets for lunch?

Yes, for those who purchase a Family Pass, two paper tickets are provided for lunch at Winslow (on September 14 only). They will be placed in your Family Weekend bag.

Do I receive tickets for Fanfare?

No paper tickets are provided for Fanfare. 

Where do I pick-up football tickets? 

Football tickets purchased through the Family Weekend Promo / Athletics online site will be mobile e-tickets. If you need to purchase tickets on-site, go to Gate 3, 4, or 6 prior to the game. Gates will open 90 minutes prior to kickoff at 4:30.

What's on the lunch menu?

Winslow Menu Includes:

Pulled Pork, Sliced Marinated Grilled Chicken, BBQ Jackfruit, Slaw, Potato Salad, Macaroni and Cheese, Fresh Veggies, Cornbread, Pizza, Pasta, Salad, Wraps, Sandwiches, Burgers, and Fries. Allergy Friendly options at Simple Servings

Can I sit with my student during the Murray State football game?

Yes! All individual game ticket sales will be general admission, in which families and students can sit together anywhere in the bleacher seating throughout the stadium outside of the reserved chairs. The reserved chair backs are sold strictly on a season ticket basis.

Can I bring my RV to the game?

Please view the Racer Game Day Guide for further information on RV parking. If you don't find what you are looking for, please email msu.gameday@murraystate.edu for further assistance.

Is tailgating allowed at the game?

Do I need to register my vehicle to park on campus?

Yes, if you will be joining us for Family Weekend, please access the Family Weekend Parking Registration to register your vehicle for a free visitor’s permit for the weekend. If you have questions about parking, please contact our Parking Services office at 270.809.4812 or visit their website at murraystate.edu/parking.

Where can I park during Family Weekend?

Please observe and respect reserved spaces for handicap parking, special staff (i.e. Resident Directors), university vehicles and emergency vehicles.

Where can I find a campus map?

The campus map is also available online. A map will also be included in your welcome bag.

Is housing provided for Family Weekend guests?

No, you will be responsible for your own housing. View area accommodations. You are encouraged to look for housing accommodations in the surrounding area: Benton; Draffenville; Paducah, Mayfield, Land Between the Lakes (KenLake; Grand Rivers); VRBO,: Paris, TN.

How do I register for the Racer 5K?

Please visit the Racer5k website to view more information and to register. The 5K is on Saturday, September 30 at 8 a.m. Check-in at 7:15 a.m.; Race begins at 8 a.m. In-person registration the day of the race is possible.

Is Murray State a tobacco free campus?

Yes, Murray State is a tobacco-free campus. View the Murray State Tobacco Policy. The use of all tobacco products is prohibited on all property that is owned, operated, leased, occupied, or controlled by the University.
