Dear Parents and PNMs, 

My name is Laynee Harding and I am Murray State Panhellenic’s Vice President of Recruitment. I will be a senior this upcoming school year and I rushed back in Fall 2021. Leaving home for college can be overwhelming but exciting. This big step out of our comfort zone is something we can all dread. Fall recruitment luckily falls a few days before the first day of classes. This is the best way to immediately meet others and break down those walls of fear we have with being in a new place. My older sister was in a sorority at Murray State years before me. I was nervous about going Greek because I knew how different she and I were. I decided to try it out and this is something I am thankful that I did. Greek life is something that has many hidden blessings. It gives countless opportunities to students at Murray State and I am extremely blessed and thankful that I am in the position to help girls experience this. Going through recruitment can bring a lot of emotions, but even more memories. The moments that I have taken away from my past three years are ones that I know have shaped me into the woman I am today. I have gained confidence in myself and my future, leadership skills, friendships, and much more. This is something that I hope each girl will get to have after going through recruitment and finding their home away from home!
