Jordan and Amanda Smith

While students at Murray State, Jordan and I could often be found in similar circles, but never found each other. We shared several mutual friends, lived in Richmond College, even participated in Student Ambassadors together; but never formally met. It wasn’t until we began working as Admission Counselors in the Office of Recruitment that we finally said the “hello” that led to the “I do!” We formed a friendship based on our love of Murray State, politics, and musicals. Our first date ( I was unaware we were calling it a date) was in Paducah to see Mamma Mia! After a summer of traveling and working Summer Orientations, Jordan asked me to marry him after a delicious dinner at Patti’s. We were married in the fall of 2009 and have two junior Racers of our own. Our family has the best time cheering on athletics, attending art performances, and supporting undergraduate students. Blue and Gold runs through our veins and Racer Nation will always be our home.
