"I met my wife, a Calloway County native, on Valentine's Day, 1971, when I took a leave of absence from teaching to come back to Murray to finish my master's degree and one year above toward a Doctorate," Fred writes. "Reta was a freshman, who I took on our first date to Campus Lights that same year. We had a whirlwind courtship culminating in marriage just a few months later on July 2, 1971. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary last year with our two daughters and five grandchildren." #WeAreRacers #MurrayState100
