Q&A

Who has influenced you the most in your life and why?

I have been influenced most by my family. They showed me how to be a faithful servant of the Lord and continue to push me in growing closer in my faith.

What first sparked your interest in your chosen field?

My love for caring for others and feeling a desire to serve the sick sparked when I was much younger getting to care for my siblings.

What do you want to do after graduation?

After graduation, I hope to work as a registered nurse (RN) in labor and delivery to gain experience to become a midwife to serve the women’s health community.

Why did you select Murray State?

I decided to come to Murray State for the hometown feel and the southern atmosphere.

Who is one of your favorite professors and why?

My favorite professor is Dr. Jessica Naber. She always puts in extra time to help her nursing students and she does research of her own on top of her challenging position. She takes students to study abroad trips to the blue zones to help bring back research on why America has such high rates of Alzheimer’s and certain cancers.

What is one of your favorite Murray State traditions/experiences?

My favorite Murray State tradition is All Campus Sing.

What is something you’ve accomplished at Murray State that you’re most proud of and why are you proud of it?

I am most proud of my nursing education because I truly feel equipped with the knowledge that is superior to other nursing programs and the confidence to be a leader starting out.

What do you think sets Murray State apart from other universities?

I think Murray State’s employees always try to do as much as they can for their students and it shows from the professors to the financial aid staff. Everyone is willing to help out in the name of racer pride.

For a prospective student considering which college to attend, why do you think they should consider attending Murray State?

You will never find a closer-knit community in a college town AND academically challenging degrees that push you out of your comfort zone.
