Financial Aid

At Murray State University, we believe that no one should be denied an education because of financial need. That's why we work hard to provide a host of financial opportunities such as grants, loans, part-time employment, and state KEES scholarships.

The mission of the Office of Financial Aid is to offer opportunities for students to gain access to higher education through financial assistance from federal, state, and institutional aid. Our office strives to provide the highest quality of service while awarding all possible financial assistance and  supporting the University’s recruitment, enrollment, and retention efforts to enable students the ability to achieve their desired educational goals.

CARES Act Student Emergency Grant Funding Application

Murray State University understands that for many of our students, the disruptions caused by COVID-19 mean more than simply transitioning to online or remote coursework. Many Racers are experiencing additional expenditures related to items such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care and child care.

Murray State has received funding from the Federal CARES Act.  According to 18004(c) of the CARES Act: Institutions of higher education shall use CARES funding to provide emergency financial aid grants to students for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus (including eligible expenses under a student's cost of attendance, such as food, housing, course materials, technology, healthcare and childcare).

If you have expenses related to the disruption of campus, please complete the CARES Student Emergency Grant funding Application on the Financial Aid Forms channel located on your Financial Aid/Scholarships tab in myGate. For priority consideration, please complete by Friday, May 15, 2020.   Submitting this application does not guarantee that you will be eligible to receive funds.
