Bursar's Office

The Bursar's Office is responsible for the collection of all fees owed to the university.

The Bursar's Office is located on the 5th floor of Sparks Hall, on the corner of 15th Street and Main Street. Our building is wheelchair accessible. Visitor parking and posted handicapped parking spaces are available. Our office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Winter 2023 late registration fee ($100) begins December 1, 2023

Spring 2024 late registration fee ($100) begins January 6, 2024

Students enrolled in 12-15 hours will be assessed tuition and fees based on a flat rate. Students enrolled in more than 15 hours will be assessed the flat rate tuition for the 12-15 hours plus a per credit hour rate for each hour above 15 hours. Web classes are now included in the flat tuition charge and are assessed based on residency. Additionally, all web classes will be assessed a $75 per credit hour web course fee.

Students are encouraged to sign up for direct deposit. Direct deposit sign-up is available through the student myGate account, under the Money tab, and the Student Refunds box.r content freely. for an accordion panel.

Federal/state aid and scholarship payments to eligible students’ Murray State accounts will begin after the drop/add period, which is after the 5th day of classes.

Students must make payment via their myGate account, or by mailing a check to:

PAY ONLINE — Students can pay online through the payment portal located under the “Money” tab within their myGate account. Once students have followed the “My Account” link under the “Money” tab, they will be re-directed to the payment website. Students will then use a web-based payment method to pay the balance of their account using an electronic check from a checking or savings account, debit card or credit card through Pay-Path® *Please note that all credit card transactions will include a processing fee of:

  • Domestic Transactions - 2.95%.
  • International Transactions - 4.25%

Any student NOT paying their balance in FULL must enroll in the Murray State Payment Plan and pay the $30 nonrefundable setup fee via their myGate account. Students may enroll each semester in the payment plan after they receive their first billing statement.  

 

In order for institutional scholarships or discounts to pay to undergraduate students’ accounts, they must complete the Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

An asset preservation fee is effective beginning Fall 2019. The revenue from this fee will be designated for the maintenance of instructional facilities.

Check your email

In accordance with Murray State's policy on university communication through email - your Murray State email account (username@murraystate.edu) is the official means of communication by the university and the Bursar's Office.  This is the email account where we will send your e-bills and any other notification from our office.  Make sure to check your email and review your account regularly to avoid future issues.

Consent to release

Before we can communicate with you or anyone about your account over the telephone, you must complete the Consent to Release Non-Directory Information Form located under your “Academics” tab in myGate.
