Senior Scholars
If you are a senior citizen interested in taking a course at Murray State University, you may be eligible for tuition waivers through our Senior Scholars program.
Eligibility
The eligibility requirements include the following:
- Age 65 or older at the time of application
- Copy of Kentucky drivers license
- Proof of Kentucky residency for 1 or more years - date issued on KY Driver's License
Apply
- Complete the Senior Scholars Application
- Make a copy of your KY Driver's License.
- Submit the completed application and copy of driver's license to:

Note: If you are seeking a degree, you must also request official transcripts be sent to Murray State.
Enroll
Enroll in courses at Murray State.
- Upon receiving letter of admission:
- Call Alison Marshall at 270.809.5796 to find out what courses are available for the upcoming semester and to discuss the enrollment and tuition waiver process.
- Select the class that you wish to take and complete the Course Registration Form.
- Contact the class instructor to receive permission to take the class and obtain his/her signature on the form.
- Ask instructor to email the signed form to amarshall@murraystate.edu
- Send the completed Course Registration Form to:

Additional steps
After you are admitted and enrolled, don't forget to purchase textbooks and register for parking.
- Purchase textbooks
- Visit the Murray State Bookstore on the 2nd floor of the Curris Center or
- Order textbooks online.
- Register your vehicle with the Murray State Parking Office through the myGate parking channel and to access the NuPark System.
Note: $200 fee covers August-August parking on campus.
All students (full-time or part-time, regional, web) who operate a motor vehicle on the Murray State campus must properly register their vehicle as this is your virtual permit. Annual renewal of parking registration is required. - Obtain a Murray State RacerCard - Your Murray State I.D. in the RacerCard Office, 3rd Floor Sparks Hall ($20 fee - one time only)
The office is open Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Bring your M Number and another photo ID.
