The main campus of Murray State University is located in beautiful western Kentucky in the city of Murray. You can find our five regional campuses spread out across the entire state, but Murray, Kentucky is the location we are happy to call our home base. The city of Murray and Murray State University has a lasting beneficial relationship that has strengthened our communities into one, larger community.

While we can assure that Murray State takes great measures to keep our community safe, that same mentality is shared by our partners in the Murray, Kentucky community.
Our campus features an array of cultural centers and attractions. The city residents frequently enjoy our on-campus art galleries and theaters and join us for community concerts and other events. In return, Murray boasts a diversity of locally-owned restaurants, specialty retail shops and other businesses that our students, faculty, staff and campus visitors can all enjoy.

If you have children and are considering pursuing an education at Murray State, we're pleased to report that the two nearby public school systems – Calloway County Schools and Murray Independent Schools – offer excellent academic, athletic and extracurricular activities for your children. Many of our students with families find themselves remaining in the area long after graduation, even if they had previously moved from elsewhere. Murray is a city of about 20,000 residents, and each member of the community embodies a kind, inviting feel which will make you feel right at home.
