July 1 - Teaching Chineses Calligraphy to Other Students － 教其他国家的学生学习中国书法
I have already been studying at Murray State University for more than two years, it is undeniable to say that student organizations are the best way to making native friends and learning English. Absolutely, having fun student activities is every students favorite. As international students, we have many chances to attend some events on campus that allow us to learn about world cultures. I remembered that last year I attend an activity about Chinese calligraphy, many volunteers from China introduce Chinese calligraphy to American students. I was a volunteer to teach American students on how to write old Chinese by using traditional brushes and paint. Actually, not only did we introduce Chinese culture to student from other countries, but also we learned native culture when we have a communication with native students, it is really interesting to learn another totally different culture.
June 18 - My Favorite Course in Agriculture - 我所喜欢的专业课
I am a graduate program student, and my major is agriculture. For me, the school life is busy but interesting. The courses and associations are all my favorite things to do. I am going to talk about my favorite class—lab class. Because my major is agriculture, we have a lot of chances to visit many different kind of farms. Extensive experience and knowledge can gained when we visit a large farm, it is very helpful. However, the most interesting place is small farm, know as family farms. The small farm owner is always very friendly and enthusiastic, they usually prepare some homemade food (cheeseburger, chips and so on) for us, and introduce every part of their farm. I can feel the real love from the small farm owners to their horses, cows, and sheep. One time we saw a big rainbow when we visited the last farm, that’s a memorable lab class.
June 12 - Making Chinese Food for Homecoming － 在学校开放日制作中国美食
I am an international student from China. Here at Murray State University, the college life is very different from China. Studying is very critical to success, but what you do in your free time is also an important part of college life. Homecoming Day is a traditional festivity at Murray State University. All the international students wear their traditional clothes and many international students can sell their traditional food in the football field. Last year I made some Chinese pork sandwichs with my friends to sell at the event. Many students and local residents really liked that flavor of the Chinese sandwhiches and I was really excited to be able to share my cooking with them. Some of the Chinese student who participated were also in the Murray State University newspaper and there was a short interview about us. We are very happy to participate this activity.
