To make a mid-year change in the health, dental, or vision plans after the birth of a child, marriage, or other change in life circumstances, employees must contact the benefits staff within 30 days of the event in order to make changes to benefits. Otherwise, the employee must wait until the next open enrollment period to make the change.
All regular employees must report leave during their contract period. In addition, all employees on paid leave must report leave except those on sabbatical. For example, faculty who are on military duty must report leave in the military leave category.

Print ads are no longer necessary for faculty vacancies, provided that the ads 1) appear in online journals 2) appear for at least 30 days, and 3) are free for the public to access, e.g., no membership fees are required to see the ad. No changes are occurring for advertising non-exempt and exempt staff vacancies.
Please have all volunteers sign the volunteer form found here.

All new employees must have a completed I-9 form within 72 hours of beginning work. For example, a person who starts on Monday must have the I-9 completed by Wednesday afternoon. Please do not allow an employee to work if this deadline is not met.
For persons returning to MSU employment, any break in service of one day or more requires a new I-9. This excludes faculty, dining services staff, and others who have a routine summer break. I-9’s must be completed by adjuncts and temporaries when they are rehired after a one day break in service.
Department Heads must have a PA completed within 5 days after the start of any employee’s paid leave estimated to be 2 weeks or longer. The Kentucky Employees Retirement System (KERS) is beginning a new reporting system which requires PAs for leave time to be expedited. Failure to submit reports so HR can meet KERS’s deadline will cause Murray State University to be assessed heavy monetary penalties.
