Facilities Management project foreman receives Racer Proud pin
Murray State University’s Jennifer Smith, Enrollment Management Specialist and Racer Academy Coordinator recently awarded a Racer Proud Pin to Jamie Miller, Project Foreman for Facilities Management.
“This was my first opportunity to oversee a project from the office's point of view, and working with Jamie made my experience enjoyable, and I would gladly work with him again. Jamie has been instrumental in getting the work completed in a timely manner which helps our area run more efficiently,” said Smith.
“I felt somewhat surprised and honored at the token of appreciation. I presently work in the position of Project Foreman for Facilities Management. My primary goal with the various projects I'm involved with is to retain the student focus. I sincerely enjoy my work and do not expect any gratitude. So being recognized as this with the Racer Proud pin is pretty special to me personally,” said Miller.

Department of Transportation is Racer Proud
The Racer Proud series was kicked off in November with the first pin received by Jerry O’Bryan. O’Bryan is a worker at the Murray Department of Transportation and was called upon by President Davies to help a student who was having trouble getting to work.
The student’s car had a flat tire and she found herself without a jack on which to put a spare. When the Department of Transportation came to her rescue, she was very thankful for the assistance.
“I have been with Transportation for 20 years and we have always tried to help students, faculty and staff if in need outside of our daily responsibilities. So this situation is no different than the other 20 years. MSU Transportation is proud to help those in need if we can! I’m very honored to have received the pin in recognition of MSU transportation,” said O’Bryan.
O’Bryan is the first of several faculty and staff currently being recognized on campus with a Racer Proud lapel pin. They’ve been instructed to pass their pins on in efforts to further recognize others’ efforts to go above and beyond by helping students on Murray State University’s campus.
