Kevin O’Neill is president and owner of Preferred Professionals, Inc. He grew up in Arlington, Kentucky and is a 1976 graduate of Murray State University. Kevin is chairman of the Carlisle County Board of Education, a member of the Carlisle County Senior Citizens Board, an active member of Bardwell Baptist Church where he serves as chairman of deacons, and is a youth Sunday School teacher.
Eddie Crittendon was born and raised in Fulton, Kentucky. Eddie is the executive director of the Fulton County-Hickman County Economic Development Partnership. This is a two-county partnership that was formed in 2007. Previously Eddie served as administrator of the Park Terrace Assisted Living facility in South Fulton, Tennessee. Eddie served two years as vice mayor of the City of Fulton before being elected to his first term as mayor in 2000 and was re-elected in 2004. Eddie also served as constable of the First District in Fulton County. Eddie is very involved in the community through youth activities and currently serves as president of the Twin City Youth League.
Besty Wells-Jones is coordinator for education and workforce development for Northwest Kentucky Forward in Henderson, Kentucky. She is from Glasgow, Kentucky, and moved to Henderson in 1987. Wells-Jones worked at Big Rivers Electric Corporation in economic development for many years. Over the years she has served on many boards, committees and organizations in the Henderson area. Since she joined Northwest Kentucky Forward, Wells-Jones coordinated the 2010 Rally 4 Education, and is currently working with numerous education advocacy teams in the Northwest Kentucky region as well as the school districts.
Dr. Gene Gilliland is Assistant Vice President of Strategic Planning and Public Relations at Community Financial Services Bank (CFSB) where he has been employed since 2004. He represents Marshall County on the regional chamber and is the Immediate Past Chairman of the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce. Prior to coming to the bank 8 years ago, he preached for over 30 years in AL, TN, OH, CA, and KY. He has four degrees from three universities including one doctorate (in Church Growth). Since joining the bank he has also completed 3 banking schools graduating magna cum laude last May at the Barret School of Banking in Memphis, TN. Gene believes strongly in community involvement as he is an active member of the McCracken, Calloway, and Marshall Chambers as well as being on the board of the West Kentucky Regional Chamber Alliance. He is a shepherd/elder at the Reidland Church of Christ. He has been a member of the Benton Lions Club since 1990 and served in a variety of leadership positions (Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, & Treasurer) as well as serving as a Zone Chairman for the district. He is Vice Chairman for Marshall County Needline. He is founder and president of Character Counts in Marshall County since 2001. He is president of the Society for the Preservation of Southern Harmony Singing which in 2012 hosted their 130th annual Big Singing at the old courthouse in Benton. He also publishes a Quick Reference Directory of Community Resources for Marshall and McCracken counties. Gene has been happily married to his wife Ella for 38 years. Ella is a speech-language pathologist for the Marshall County School System. They have three grown children. Bradley & his wife Anna live in Oklahoma City where he is a middle school teacher. Bethany & her husband Ryan live in central California where she is a deputy district attorney. Cindy & her husband Jesse live in Draffenville where she is a server at Patti’s Restaurant and subs for the Marshall County School System. Gene and Ella recently became grandparents as their first grandchild, Paige Rylee Willcutt was born Friday, November 9th in Visalia, CA.
Dona Rains, of Paducah, is director of marketing and planning at Western
Baptist Hospital. A native of Mayfield, she is a journalism graduate of
the University of Kentucky. She is a former editor and reporter at The
Paducah Sun and public relations coordinator at Paducah Public Schools.
