Get out of here!
Study abroad gives you the
opportunity to challenge your own views as you interact with
around the world, people who have been raised in a different
tradition. Give yourself the chance to open new doors – you’ll
at what you might find when you do.
Over 300 MSU students study abroad each year and you should be one of them!
Step 1: Find a program
Search for your study abroad program at our online application system, Horizons.
You can search by your major or field of study, location, term, length of program, provider, or
Step 2: Meet with an advisor
We're happy to help answer any questions you may have about what you can study abroad, where you can go, and how you can afford it. Please click on "Advising Appointments" on the left of this page to schedule an appointment with your Education Abroad Advisor. We also accept walk-ins.
Step 3: Apply
In order to make applying easier for you and to protect the environment, we have an online application. Once you have found a program you're interested in, make sure to read the Policies and Procedures to understand the application process. The scholarship application will be available online once you have completed the application for your program.
After you're accepted:
You're not alone in this process. Before you go, you are required to attend a study abroad orientation where you will learn more specific details about your program and activity, how MSU will respond in an emergency, how to remain safe and healthy while abroad, and how to maximize your learning inside and outside the classroom. Family members are invited to attend orientation with you.
We want to help you get your journey of a lifetime underway! Contact
