The College of Education is proud of its outstanding reputation for
preparing professionals in early childhood, elementary, library media,
middle and secondary education, reading and writing, special education,
vocational and technology education, school administration, school
psychology, counseling, and human development and leadership. These
programs are characterized by personalized attention from faculty and
hands-on experience in public school settings. Murray State University's
teacher preparation program has been accredited by the Commonwealth of
Kentucky since the institution's beginning as a state normal school in

facility, Alexander Hall, has new furnishings, a smart board and
computers in each classroom, three computer labs and wireless technology
