For students living on campus at Murray State, meal plans are everything. With a variety of plans based on your academic classification or residential location, meal plans ensure you never miss a meal.
Students with the All-Access meal plan receive unlimited access to Winslow Dining Hall for the entire semester — meaning you can eat as many times per day as you wish. This plan also includes guest meals to spend on family and friends at Winslow in addition to Flex dollars to spend at other campus dining venues. This plan is available to all students but is required for all freshmen living on campus.
The University also offers Mix-and-Match and Flex-Only meal plans available for juniors, seniors and commuters.
So, now what?
Select your plan
First, check out the meal plan options offered by Murray State University. Then, once you’re ready, the selection form for meal plans is located under the “money” tab on your myGate.
After selecting a meal plan option, upperclassmen and commuters have the option to make changes to their plans through the “money” tab on myGate within the first 30 days of the semester.
Please Note: Freshmen living on campus are automatically placed on the All-Access Plan. No further action is required.
Pay for your plan
After making your meal plan selection, the cost of that plan is added to your tuition bill, which means scholarships and financial aid may be applied toward covering this cost.
Dining Services cannot offer refunds on any meal plans (used or unused) after the first 30 days of the semester. Flex dollars remaining at the end of the fall 2018 semester will roll to the spring 2019 semester providing another meal/ flex plan is in place at the start of the spring 2019 semester and stays active for the term of the semester. Unused flex dollars will not roll at the end of the spring 2019 semester.

When you purchase a meal plan, Flex dollars are applied to your RacerCard (Murray State ID), which you may then use like a debit card at all Dining Services venues. You receive an automatic 6 percent discount with every Flex purchase and food purchased with Flex dollars is not subject to Kentucky sales tax.

Winslow bundle option
Upgrade your Flex plan by purchasing bundles of 10 Winslow meals for $75; limit of one bundle purchase at a time. Your cost for lunch and dinner will be lower than regular door price.
Faculty/Staff Meal Plan
Everyone has to eat — including Murray State faculty and staff. So, for your convenience, Dining Services has created a faculty/staff meal plan option called Dining Dollars.
Dining Dollars provide a 10 percent bonus in the form of additional dollars on your account with each deposit. For example, if you deposit $100, your account will be credited with $110. By using Dining Dollars, you're essentially saving the cost of the sales tax plus an additional 4 percent. And, honestly, who doesn't love that?
- Minimum deposit: $50.
- Add money to your account.
- Can be used at all Murray State Dining Services locations.
- Available to all faculty and staff, including regular part-time staff and retirees.
- Can be used to pay for guest meals.
- Refunds, minus the 10 percent bonus, are available for employees who leave Murray State.
- NOT available for student or temporary staff.
Check your balance
Not sure how many meals you have left for the semester? Not a problem. You can check your balance any time by logging onto your myGate account and clicking the "Money" tab. Beneath the box titled "RacerCard Balances," you can see how many meals you have left for the semester.
Meal plan requirements
- Freshman: All-Access
- Sophomore: All-Access, 175/400 or 150/300 plan
- Junior*: May purchase any plan. No requirement.
*Note for juniors receiving regional tuition discount: If you do not have a housing contract, you must choose a Copper, Platinum, All-Access, 175/400 or 150/300 plan.
- Senior: May purchase any plan. No requirement.
- Commuter (any academic status): May purchase any plan. No requirement.
Freshmen and sophomore students (defined as students who have completed fewer than 60 hours of college credit) are required to have a meal plan for at least four semesters.
Exempted from this policy are students who:
- Have reached their 21st birthday prior to the first day of registration.
- Are veterans of at least two years' active military service.
- Are married.
- Commute to school daily from the permanent, legal residence of their parents (within 50 miles of Murray State).
- Have resided in residence halls for four semesters, excluding summers.
Exemptions are rarely granted if you do not meet the above listed criteria.
You must complete an exemption form within the first month of classes to be considered for an exemption. Exemptions are only valid for one semester. You must reapply at the start of each term. Download the exemption form and mail to 101 Curris Center, Murray, KY 42071.
