What do you want to do after graduation?
I plan to attend medical school, eventually becoming an emergency medical professional.
Who is your favorite professor and why?
Dr. Cox is definitely my favorite professor. Classes can be difficult at times, but when you have a professor who cares and truly enjoys what they do, it makes the struggle worth it.
What’s something you’ve accomplished at Murray State that you’re most proud of and why?
Maintaining a 4.0 in my chemistry classes. It took a lot of work and I'm not done yet, but I'm beyond proud of what I've accomplished so far.
What is your favorite Murray State tradition?
I absolutely love attending the step show each year. The show never fails to impress me! It's definitely an event you don't want to miss.
What advice would you give high school students about college?
Don't underestimate the amount of work that you will have to put in to accomplish your dreams. Don't expect professors to hand good grades to you. Always remember that you can and will accomplish your goals if you stay focused. And remember that you may not excel at everything, but that's okay- you're good at something. Cherish that.
What three things could you not live without?
In no particular order, my heated blanket, my family, and my faith.
How do you define success?
Success, to me, means being happy with the direction you are taking in life. Success means not only working to better your own life, but working to better the lives of others, as well.
What is your favorite quote?
"Kindness is a language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see." -Mark Twain
Coming from the small town of Metropolis, IL, I knew that remaining in a small town for my undergraduate schooling would be ideal. Murray State University has provided me with a family away from home, as well as providing a wonderful education.
