Non-traditional students

Applications for non-traditional student-specific scholarships are due June 1st.

In order to be considered for other competitive scholarships (beyond the non-traditional student-specific scholarships) please have your admission application/information, scholarship application and required documents submitted by January 15th.

A non-traditional student is one who meets any of the following criteria:

  • 23 or older
  • Financially independent
  • Works full time
  • A spouse or parent
  • A veteran
  • Had a break between high school and college

Select the "Apply Here for Scholarships" link to apply for MSU scholarships.

Current MSU students can also access the application through myGate on the Financial Aid tab.

Non-traditional student applicants must also submit a letter/essay explaining their financial circumstances or break in studies.  Please submit your essay/letter by:
