About Murray

On campus

Location. Location. Location.

The main campus of Murray State University is located in western Kentucky in the city of Murray. We also operate regional campuses in Fort Campbell, Henderson, Hopkinsville, Madisonville and Paducah, which each bring a world-class education to students of all ages and backgrounds right at home in their own neighborhoods.

But what about Murray itself? With locally-owned specialty shops and restaurants — not to mention all the cultural centers on campus, including an arboretum, art galleries, museums, theatres, Town & Gown community concerts and more — there’s something for everyone in Murray. Learn more by visiting the Murray Kentucky Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and the Chamber of Commerce.

Plus, when it comes to making weekend travel plans, there are plenty of nearby options, too. Murray is a quick road trip from several major metropolitan areas, such as Nashville, St. Louis and Memphis. Or, if nature is more your thing, we’re a mere 20 miles from Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.

And, ultimately, no matter where you’re from, know that the Murray community will always welcome you with open arms. A city of about 20,000 residents, Murray has a kind, inviting feel that earned us the title of “friendliest small town” from Rand McNally and USA Today.
