What are the benefits of completing an internship?

Degree related work experience makes you more marketable as a job candidate and allows you to gain greater understanding of your career field. Employers often give preference to potential candidates who have interned in their field because they know the individual already understands the positives and negatives of the position.

    • Enhances your resume
    • Builds your professional network
    • Educates you about your chosen industry or field
    • Applies academic learning to hands-on situations
    • Coaches you on general work functions/workplace etiquette
    • Exposes you to organizational culture, latest trends, technologies and practices
    • Develops transferable skills: communication, time management, report writing, customer service, etc
