A Message from the President

Dear Colleagues:

Welcome! On behalf of the BFSA, I want to extend my greetings and well wishes for a great academic year!

The organization was established circa 1988 by seven African American employees as a desired outcome to network and discuss issues. 25 years later, the BFSA continues to serve as a trusted resource for MSU faculty and staff members by providing a forum for meaningful exchanges. We also historically partner with the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) community to assist with outreach to our communities on and off campus. We hope that you will join us for many exciting events this academic year. You do not need to be a member of the BFSA to participate in BFSA or OMA activities/events. However, we hope that you will consider becoming a member. The annual membership is $25.00. Benefit from networking, recognition for your achievements, professional development, etc. With us, you are seen, heard and supported.

In terms of the meeting format, YOU asked: WE listened! This year, BFSA will be utilizing FreeConferenceCall.com for some conference call meetings. It is important that everyone has an opportunity to participate even when physical presence is not a possibility (travel, multiple shifts, conferences, class schedules, etc.) You can now call in from the road while traveling [please be safe], while you are at home, while sitting and waiting for the work day to begin/before shift changes, during your lunch/dinner break, etc. Watch your email for reminders, updates and announcements. Check the BFSA and OMA websites each month! The fall schedule of core events is below:
