Authorization of Background Investigation

I-9 Form-Instruction


 Every student who is hired by the MSU Housing Office is required to complete Section #1 of the Federal I-9 Form within 2 business days of being offered employment.  In addition, to be eligible for employment a Federal I-9 Form must be submitted to the MSU Housing Office along with the appropriate documents listed on page 4 of this form.  Failure to comply may result in the  employment offer being rescinded.

The Resident Advisor (RA) role is one of the most comprehensive student leadership positions available on campus. Residence Director

Murray State University is a regional university. It is a residential campus located in the Jackson Purchase area close to the Tennessee Valley Authority lake region. The enrollment is approximately 10,000 with 3,000 students living in the residential colleges and 144 student apartments operated by the Department of Housing and Residence Life. The city of Murray, with a population of 15,000 is located approximately fifty miles from Paducah, Kentucky.  The Residence Director (RD) is a graduate assistantship in the department of Housing/Residence Life. The RD lives in the residential college and is responsible for supervision of staff and administrative duties associated with managing a residential college and helping develop a positive living environment.

Desk Supervisor- Fall 2017

The desk supervisor position is one that works very closely with the Residence Director to oversee the residence hall front desk and mailroom operations.   The desk supervisor assists with hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating the desk staff.  They are also required to work 10 hours at the  front desk per week and are paid 15 hours per week at $7.50/hr.  To be eligible for the desk supervisor position, the applicant must have at least 1 year experience as a desk worker/night worker or as an RA.
