Health and wellness education

C.A.R.E.

The Coalition for Alcohol Risk Education (CARE) is made up of students, faculty, staff, parents, community members and the Regional Prevention Center. CARE was founded in 1999 with the mission to heighten awareness of risks associated with alcohol use and to provide a positive low-risk environment for the Murray State community.

For more information on CARE and how you can become a part of this coalition, please call Judy Lyle at Health Services - 270.809.3809.

Risk appraisal

The Risk Appraisal is a personal screening for students designed to highlight any potential or real wellness concerns that you might have. The screening also highlights those things that are healthy in your life. Some of the wellness concerns you may want to address while you are a student in order to become a more well person.

We would like to encourage the users of the Risk Appraisal to complete the assessment and then call Health Services to schedule an appointment with one of the professional nurses. The appointment will last approximately 15 - 30 minutes. We will go over your assessment with you and will give you information on some of the areas in which you have concerns. If necessary, we can schedule additional appointments or a referral to another health care provider for in-depth problem areas.

Faculty and staff are able to complete an online health risk appraisal (part of the Murray State University Healthy Lifestyle Incentive Plan). Contact Human Resources for more information.
