Research Focus:
Dr. Byers completed her dissertation in May 2008. Her dissertation was titled, “Predictors of African American Women’s Perceived Health Status in the Context of Caring for a Relative with End-stage Renal Disease.” Her research interests include: African American caregivers, minority health status, caregivers of persons with end-stage renal, and elimination of health disparities within vulnerable populations.
