Young Artist Competition

Mary Grace Bender's winning performance in the 2014 competition

The Young Artist Concerto Competition is an annual event sponsored by the Paducah Symphony Orchestra and Murray State University, and designed to support talented young musicians on their way to a career in music performance. Pre-college students from around the country are invited to audition for a chance to win a $1000 cash prize, a chance to perform with the Paducah Symphony Orchestra, and, if eligible, a scholarship award for music study at Murray State University.

Murray State University will host the Final Round of the Young Artist Concerto Competition on Sunday, February 2, 2014, at 3:00 pm. in the Performing Arts Hall. The concert, which is open to the public, will feature six talented young instrumental artists, playing works by Elgar, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Prokofiev, and Saint-Saëns.
