Pamela Wurgler, Chair of the Department of Music at Murray State University (KY), is Professor of Music and Coordinator of the Music Education and Graduate programs. Dr. Wurgler holds degrees from Baylor University, The University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, and The Ohio State University. She taught public school vocal music at all levels in Texas and in Ohio, continues to serve as a church musician, and has sung professionally in the United States and Europe. She has served as clinician and adjudicator for many choral and solo vocal events in Texas and the Midwest.
Dr. Wurgler has given presentations at state and national MENC, ACDA, NATS, and AOSA conferences and has written for their journals. Dr. Wurgler is a member of the National Association for Music Education, American Choral Directors Association, American Orff-Schulwerk Association, the College Music Society, and the National Association of Teachers of Singing. She serves as Kentucky’s representative to the Society for Music Teacher Education. In 2004-2005 she was named Kentucky Music Education Association’s University Teacher of the Year. Dr. Wurgler is currently serving as First District KMEAPresident.
