Creative Writing Programs
The Murray State University creative writing programs, part of the Department of English and Philosophy and the College of Humanities and Fine Arts, are writing-intensive programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our programs of study combine workshop experience with courses in literature and form in order to give our students a well-rounded and broad approach to their craft. Students can earn a minor, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, or a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from Murray State. Though the majority of our writing workshops are intended primarily for creative writing students, we welcome students from other areas permitted they discuss their plans with one of our faculty members in advance.
