Admissions to the MS Program in Speech-Language Pathology
MSU Graduate Admission Standards
Applicants must meet the Murray State University requirements for admission. In addition, applicants must have
- a baccalaureate degree in communication disorders or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution
- a minimum 3.0 undergraduate grade point average
- submission of official Graduate Record Examination scores by application deadline
- successful completion of the following prerequisite courses (or their equivalents) at the time of application

- CDI 340 Speech and Language Development
- CDI 345 Pediatric Language Disorders I

- CDI 451 Aural Rehabilitation
- CDI 465 Neuroanatomy
- CDI 470 Pediatric Speech Disorders II
- CDI 472 Pediatric Language Disorders II
Applicants who do not have a baccalaureate degree in communication disorders or the prerequisite coursework should apply for the post-baccalaureate program.
Application for Admission to Graduate Study
- Applicants must complete an application and send supportive materials to the MSU Office of Graduate Admissions.
- Applicants must complete a program application that is sent directly to the Communication Disorders Program. The application process for summer 2014 will be available November 1, 2013.
- Applicants must complete an application essay that is sent directly to the Communication Disorders Program.
- Applicants must request letters of recommendation from three academic references. These sealed letters should be sent directly to the Communicaton Disorders program.
- Applicants must have official scores from the Graduate Records Examination sent to Murray State University
- Applicants may choose to submit an application for a graduate assistantship which should be sent directly to the Communication Disorders Program.
The MSU program begins in the summer semester and accepts full-time students only at this time. The deadline for receipt of applications is February 1 each year. Incomplete applications will not be considered for admissions.
