Nonprofit Leadership Studies

The Nonprofit Leadership Studies Student Association (NLSSA) is dedicated to providing the students of MSU with professional, social, and service opportunities with the intent of enriching students' leadership potential and competencies in the field of youth, human service and other nonprofit organizations. Active membership in the organization shall be constituted by enrollment as a NLS major or minor at Murray State University and payment  of semester dues.

The NLSSA at MSU has been the largest Nonprofit Leadership Alliance student organization in the country for a number of years and the students, program, faculty and staff members have received numerous national awards and local awards for excellence in academics, leadership, service and research, including Program Excellence Award and Model Program designation. NLSSA has worked with campus and community leaders to initiate and develop the local Big Brothers Big Sisters program, United Way, Campus Connection Volunteer Center, Health Matters for Students, Service Learning Scholars program and the MSU Center for Service Learning and Civic Engagement.
