MBA Admission Requirements
An undergraduate degree is required before you can apply to our MBA Program. We have two types of admissions, namely:
- Conditional Admission: for those students who have not yet taken either the GMAT or the GRE, but have an overall undergraduate GPA of not less than 2.75. Within 2 months of receiving conditional admission, all students must be fully admitted. See unconditional admission in (b) below.
- Unconditional Admission [same thing as Full Admission]: Everyone must take either the GRE or GMAT for full admission. These cannot be waived. At the time of taking either the GMAT or the GRE, ensure that you have Murray State University as one of your score recipients. Our code is: 1494.
What are the minimum GMAT and GRE Requirements?:
For students with an overall GPA of 3.0 or better, the minimum/required scores are 400 out of 800 for the GMAT, and 286 out of 340 for the GRE. Students with GPAs that are less than 3.0 will need higher GMAT and GRE scores. In other words, even if your GPA is 3.0 or better, you cannot be fully admitted into the MBA if your GMAT is less than 400, or if your GRE is less than 286. An MBA student cannot graduate without being fully admitted—that is, everyone must achieve the GMAT/GRE score indicated in the conditional admission letter that you will receive from the MBA Office.
Unconditional Admission/Full Admission:
If you take the GMAT and your overall GPA is less than 3.0, then you must satisfy the GMAT admission formula, which is: (200 x GPA) + GMAT > 1,000 Points. If you take the GRE and your overall GPA is less than 3.0, then your GRE=321—(11.66 X GPA).
Do I need to send letters of recommendation (references) as part of the application process?
