The Murray State University Small Business Development Center is an outreach program for the Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business. Founded in 1981, it is a member of the Kentucky Small Business Development Center network and receives partial funding from the United States Small Business Administration. Its mission is to improve the economic vitality of the 24 western-most counties in Kentucky by providing high-quality, hands-on business consulting and training to both pre-venture and existing small business entrepreneurs. Services are provided both one-on-one and through training in classroom or seminar settings. Individual consulting is confidential and without charge. Training is provided at no or low cost. The program is housed in Heritage Hall on the main MSU campus in Murray, Kentucky. It also maintains a fully operational center in Owensboro and offices in Paducah, Hopkinsville, Madisonville and Henderson.
