CTLT Guest Speaker Series with Special Guest Scholar Dr. Christy Price

What factors influence student motivation and desire to learn? Obviously, there are some influences beyond a professor’s control, but research in educational psychology suggests one thing we can do to increase student engagement is to create learning environments that are in some ways linked to, and supportive of, the current student culture. Dr. Christy Price, a nationally recognized authority on innovative teaching techniques to engage millennial learners, will be at Murray State University, Thursday and Friday, April 10th and 11th, to participate in a keynote presentation and workshop. Having Dr. Price here is a wonderful opportunity for faculty from every discipline; we hope you will be able to take advantage of her visit.

Dr. Christy Price is a professor of psychology and the founding director of the Center for Academic Excellence at Dalton State College, teaching at the collegiate level for 22 years. She has won numerous teaching awards, including the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as the Outstanding U.S. Professor for 2012 in the Baccalaureate Colleges category. Her dynamic and interactive style makes Dr. Price a favorite as a professor and presenter.
