MESS adamantly believes in student empowerment and activism for effecting local, national, and global change. The organization attracts passionate students seeking to make a positive change on campus and beyond. As such, their goal is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required for becoming a community leader and agent of change, particularly in the area of environmental stewardship and activism.
MESS' official mission is to promote awareness and activism in environmental and conservation issues while enjoying and engaging in outdoor recreational activities. Students work on projects both on campus and off, and make an effort to connect with like-minded students at other universities around the state and nation.
