Equine Facilities

The MSU Equine Center is home to the Equine Science Program and the MSU Equestrian Teams.  Facilities at the Center include the Equine Instructional Facility, a newly constructed university stall barn and breeding facility, a stall barn housing student-owned horses, a mare/foal facility, lighted outdoor riding arena, outdoor dressage arena, hay storage facilities, turn out lots for both student and University owned horses, wash rack, and several round pens.

The University’s in-house breeding program provides students with a hand-on experience throughout the breeding and foaling process.  In addition, students are able to participate in the training of the young horses on the farm.

The Equine Instructional Facility, funded by the Higher Educational Equine Trust and Revolving Fund, opened its doors on October 31, 1998.  This facility houses the MSU Equine Science departmental offices and also features a riding preparation area, two tack rooms, a round pen, indoor arena, and classrooms.

Outdoor and indoor practice arenas are available for use by University students and Equestrian Team members. Stalls are available on site ($400 per semester) for students to board their horses.  For additional information or to arrange for stall rental please contact the Hutson School of Agriculture's Dean's office.
