Wildlife Biology and Management

The Wildlife Biology program here at Murray State University will prepare you for a career in Wildlife Biology and Management fields.  There are several components to earning a degree in Wildlife Biology including the University Studies courses, core courses for the Wildlife Biology and Conservation Program, and then specific courses to prepare you for a career in Wildlife Biology and Management.

The University Studies component of the Murray State University undergraduate program  provides students with a broad-based, liberal arts and sciences education as a foundation for their academic specialty.  The Core Courses for the Wildlife Biology and Conservation program are designed to give students the background to be a competent biologists in any of these fields including Conservation Biology, Wildlife Biology and Management, and Zoology. 

The course of study for the Wildlife Biology Specialty will help prepare you for several career paths in the field of Wildlife Biology including:

  • Wildlife Biologists / Manager
  • Wildlife Researcher
  • Conservation Education
  • Conservation Officer
  • Other Wildlife-Related Fields

Of course, you wildlife education will not stop here.  For many of these area, a Master's Degree or even a Ph.D. may be necessary to achieve your full potential.  However, the BS in Wildlife Biology is the first step.
