(AMI)

     

The Nonprofit Leadership Alliance hosts a professional development conference each year for students seeking to become a "Certified Nonprofit Professional" or "CNP."  Held early each January at varied locations in the nation, AMI is designed to offer students workshop sessions and case study experiences, as well as networking and career development opportunities in order to prepare them as young professionals entering the nonprofit sector.        

Students must enroll in YNL 450 the fall prior to the January they plan to attend the conference.  The primary goal of YNL 450 is to help students prepare for effective participation at AMI.  


For the Fall 2013 class students are required to participate in the following seminar activities: 


September 9th, Room 201 Carr Health, 5:30pm – 7:30pm:   Presenting yourself to the field through a variety of media, from print to online.  

September 23rd, Room 201 Carr Health, 5:30pm – 7:30pm:   Presenting yourself to the field in person, from attire and etiquette to telephone, video, face-to-face interviews and networking.  

October 7th, 3rd Floor, Curris Center, 5:30pm – 8:30pm:   MSU College of Business, Partnering & Preparing for Professionalism Conference - Practicing networking and engaging in career preparation activities.   

January 5-8, 2014 – Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, AMI Conference, Chicago, IL.
