Undergraduate Major in Organizational Communication Minor in Organizational Communication The Department of Organizational Communication offers programs leading to either the Bachelor of Arts or the Bachelor of Science degree. Students investigate how communication theory, research, and skills are applied to create, sustain, and improve organizations. Students learn a variety of communication-based competencies (e.g., conflict management, supervisor/subordinate communication, intercultural communication, and public speaking) that are necessary for both personal and organizational success.
The major in organizational communication prepares students for a wide variety of careers that place a premium on the role of communication in accomplishing goals and objectives. This major is compatible with an extraordinarily broad range of minors (e.g., marketing, psychology, and biology) allowing students to develop technical competencies and professional skills customized to their particular career goals. The department also offers a minor in organizational communication.
